Believed to have been made by Col. Samuel Sewall (1724-1814) of York.

Walnut. Yoke-shaped crest rail. Vase-shaped back splat. Cabriole front legs terminate in padded feet. Back legs taper slightly outwards. Central part of back leg tapered. 4 turned stretchers, 1 in center, 1 on each side & back. Balloon seat widens at front. Seat reupholstered with green fabric. Similar to set owned by Jonathan Sayward (1713-1797) of York.
